BeerWise Podcast Episode 2 with Deep Brewing Company now available!
Recently we took the Florida Beer News crew to Tallahassee to talk to Ryan LaPete, the owner and head brewer of Deep Brewing Company. We had a great conversation about how Deep had adjusted to the pandemic, what was coming from the brewery in the future, insights on Deep's new hard seltzer (dubbed "Deep Water"), and more.We have been reporting about Deep Brewing Company since Ryan sent us an email about the brewery's first anniversary in August of 2017. Since then, and since sampling Ryan's beers and seeing him and his small-but-fierce staff and distributorship work to take the brewery's message throughout Tallahassee, Leon County, and surrounding areas, we have written about Deep periodically, including our 2017 list of "Ten Young Florida Breweries You'll Be Hearing About Soon."Although Ryan and Deep's beers do not usually travel outside of Tallahassee, when traveling around the area they are always worth checking out. Deep's core lineup is anchored by a British Golden Ale with Kent Golding hops called Spear Pressure, a piney and resinous American IPA called Reef Dweller, and a roasty stout with hints of raisin and fig called Nyctophile. Deep's seasonal and rotating lineup features everything from a light lager to a gose and sour ale to a barrel-aged imperial stout, and now a seltzer called "Deep Water."Click the link to listen to the podcast online and see why we made sure that Ryan was one of the first interviews on the BeerWise podcast.
